The 6th North American Forest Ecology Workshop (NAFEW) was held in Vancouver, BC, from June 18-20, 2007. The Workshop brought forest ecologists from around the world to share ideas and knowledge on forest ecosystems in North America.

The 6th North American Forest Ecology Workshop (conference) (NAFEW 2007, nafew2007) will take place at The University of British Columbia (UBC) in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), from June 18 to 22, 2007. The Workshop will convene forest ecologists from around the world to share ideas and knowledge on forest ecosystems in North America. The program will include three days of plenary sessions including plenary speakers, volunteer presentations and posters. The host committee is centered in the Department of Forest Sciences within the Faculty of Forestry at UBC. The title and theme of the workshop is From Science to Stewardship - Knowing, Understanding and Applying. The title and theme of the workshop reflect the importance of the role of inductively-based knowledge and deductively-based understanding of forest ecosystems in the stewardship and sustainable management of temperate, boreal and tropical forests in North America. Plenary and poster sessions will cover issues on the following as applied to North American forest ecosystems.
